Dr. Sarah Kalani Wharton is a salutogenic chiropractor serving Charleston, SC since 2019. Salutogenic chiropractic means to “create health” through chiropractic care. No matter where you are in your healing and health journey, it will be optimized with Cypress Chiropractic Care.
Dr. Sarah Kalani grew up an athlete mainly playing competitive soccer. At a young age, she became aware of the mind-body connection recognizing that when the body is healthy, so is the mind. She was born in Aiken, SC and grew up in the Carolinas. Throughout her entire life, she struggled with injuries to the spine, knees, and hips, as well as allergies. In her younger years, it was easier to simply let those issues play their course.
In 2004 Dr. Sarah Kalani graduated from the College of Charleston. During her time at the College of Charleston and the years immediately following, her health could no longer be ignored. Her body was screaming for a change. Multiple back injuries, debilitating back pain, and finally a severe allergic reaction to a medication, forced her to find answers. Chiropractic was the light.
In 2016 she started the doctorate program at Sherman College of Chiropractic, located in Spartanburg, SC. During her time at Sherman College, she took over 200 hours of certified Gonstead Chiropractic Training, and was mentored by a direct student of Clarence Gonstead himself, Dr. Herb Wood.
In 2019 she returned to Charleston and began practicing. Finally, in 2022 she opened her own practice, Cypress Chiropractic & Wellness.
She believes that her soul has been a healer in many lifetimes and that every experience in this lifetime, including her birth, has led her to being a chiropractor today.
She feels whole when she can use her skills to free her clients of the burden and stressors of subluxations. Each person she adjusts can reconnect with their life-force energy that is their nervous system, begin to heal, and truly be better then they were moments before. She knows that chiropractic is a gift, and by providing it to the people, she is making the community and the world a better place, one person at a time.
Dr. Sarah Kalani is also a 200-RH Certified Yoga Teacher, Reiki Level 2 Certified, and is currently getting certified in pediatrics and family wellness with the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association (ICPA). She strives to live a lifestyle of health, happiness, and wellness.
